According to BBC News, and luckily for the linguists or language passionates, a portion of Russian vocabulary is similar to Italian, German, but particularly English.

That means that the Russian language is one of the most influential tongues in the world. In fact, it has a local and international impact on commerce, diplomacy, and many other globalized professions, like astrophysics.

Learning the Russian language as a native speaker is the best way to cherish even the tiniest details of Moscow, the capital of this vast nation, and many other beautiful towns as St. Petersburg (where is located the Hermitage museum), Ekaterinburg, Kazán, Nizhny Nòvgorod, Novosibirsk, and Volgograd. Local and visitants also enjoy cities like Sochi, Samara, Kaliningrad, Omsk, Krasnodar, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk, Tomsk, Perm, Voronezh, Tyumen, Saratov, Saransk, Orenburg, Togliatti, as well.

Plus, there is Russia's Golden Ring that includes the cities of Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Suzdal, Vladimir, Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky and Rostov Veliky, which is very famous in the tourism industry.

If you're looking to visit any of those cities on a holiday, like New Years' Day, it is important to clarify that, in Russia, the New Year starts on January 1st. Nonetheless, like many other countries, Russians also follow an Orthodox calendar; in their case, it sets the New Years' Day the 13-14 January. Also, the Russian Orthodox Christmas is on January 7th.

Furthermore, people love to visit Russia to experience the Tatyana’s Day- Russian Students Day-, the Festival of Snow and Ice Sculpture at Krasnoyarsk, the Maslenitsa Festival, the White Nights Festival, and many more celebrations.

One of the most distinguished festivities is Maslenistsa, which means pancake (blini) festival. Sounds delicious, right? Russian cuisine gathers many delicious dishes that tourists can enjoy in 5-stars-restaurants or even at the smallest fast-food street stands and still get the best of Russian culinary tradition. The Borscht, Blini or blintz, Russian salad, smoked salmon, Pelmenis, Pirozhki, Honeycake or Medovik and the famous Stroganoff are among the local favorites.
