What elements need to be found in a design to be considered as a perfect one? The answer to this question will heavily depend on the particular need of the client and even his/her personal taste. You could say it’s its beauty, its practical way to transmit an information, the balance among elements, etc. Or you just can say it varies according to each particular goal.

Graphic Design is a creative process that, despite the fact that is not limited to methodologies and structures, still requires paying attention to a series of steps to guarantee effectiveness and quality. A design may want to attract the attention, like in the case of launching campaigns, maybe it would aim to identify users with a brand in an emotional level, or perhaps emphasize the product’s characteristic (for example with a creative package design). However, there is a universal truth: every design is a visual narrative.

The following are some considerations to have in mind when creating the perfect graphic piece:

  1. Remember who the actual client is

The designer should deliver a piece that satisfies the client’s expectations but, more importantly, the user desires. That said, the client must understand that sometimes what he wants is not the same to what he needs. A designer is, after all, an expert in corporate identity and advertising tools.

In many occasions, the personal interest of the client interferes in such ways that really affects his own company. From the small owner of a local store to the global businessman, the designer often finds himself in front of very bad choices, and part of his responsibility is giving more options to teach the client better by demonstrating the new designs’ effectiveness.

  1. Consider the brand identity

Whether it’s a brochure to use in an expo or just a temporary poster to be placed inside the office, the designer should always follow the brand personality in order to create a sense of trust and even friendship in the audience. This ‘getting to know better’, day by day, design after design, really generates lovebrand for both the employees and the clients of a company.

  1. 3.Location, location, location

It’s no coincidence that location is the core of a marketing campaign and also of a design process. Marketing strategies need the power of great designing to achieve its goals, and so does every communication channel, in the physical or virtual world. A great design will make the difference in all the efforts for positioning or selling.

Designers need to consider aspects like the final users demographic information, the type of printed materials needed, the social networks strategy as well as the website style, among many others. All these elements will determine the design characteristics.
